Level 200, Course #226: Air Separation
Air in hydronic systems can result in a variety of issues. Excessive air can cause no heat transfer - or poor heat transfer at best. Noise can occur in piping, especially if air pockets form – which act as acoustic amplifiers. You can get a “waterfall effect” sound if there are long downward runs in the piping. These issues, and more, are discussed in this course and how to avoid them.
