Packaged pump systems provide multiple benefits to the HVAC system owner. In addition to offering a "plug and pump" solution, these systems can help to achieve the goals laid out in the ASHRAE 90.1 standards – especially as they pertain to part-load conditions. Because these HVAC systems spend most of their lives operating at part load, the opportunities for saving energy can be realized in part by applying a pre-packaged pumping system. The hydraulic benefits accrue particularly because of hydraulic considerations in the use parallel pumping and related staging issues that directly impact efficiency and consequently power consumption. Other considerations are the use of inline multistage vs end suction or other single stage pumps, and the use of ECMs vs induction motors.‚Äč
