With so many centrifugal pumps being installed with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) these days, methods to reduce costs and simplify installations have become a major topic in today’s market. Pump drives today can be supplied with built-in pump controls than can now control the speed of a pump without a sensor feedback signal. The term “sensorless” has been used lately, meaning the pump can be set up to maintain a set-point without the added expense of installing a pressure sensor. This webcast will discuss the basic concept of what is known as “sensorless” control and look at the pros and cons of installing pumps with and without pressure sensors. The focused application in this webcast will be a secondary HVAC closed loop pumping system.
