Continuing Education Requirements for Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Continuing Education for Electrical Inspectors

Residential and Commercial Electrical Inspectors applying for UCC re-certification must complete 15 hours of continuing education.
If your certification card lists more than one category, you need 15 hours for each category listed (maximum number of 45 credit hours required for any applicant holding multiple certifications). At least 1/3 must be in approved courses relating to one or more of an applicant's certification categories.See Pennsylvania Labor & Industry UCC to learn more.


Philadelphia Electrical Contractor Licenses

The Electrical Contractor License is required of businesses and institutions installing electrical systems, including alarms and low voltage wiring. This license must be renewed annually. For renewal, applicants Must be current on the payment of all City of Philadelphia taxes and provide proof of at least eight (8) hours of coursework in NFPA 70, earned during the previous license period. Pittsburgh Electrical Trade Licenses

For renewal, applicants and licensees must provide proof of complete eight (8) hours of CEUs within the previous twelve (12) months from the license renewal date.
