Texas TDLR Continuing Education

Texas Electrical Continuing Education

In response to Hurricane Harvey, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has issued the following statement:

"In coordination with the Governor’s proclamation, TDLR is implementing fast-track licensing procedures for all eligible TDLR licensees in the affected counties to help them recover and return to work as quickly as possible."

Continuing Education Packages



Texas - Make your course FREE!

Each licensee must complete four (4) hours of continuing education annually prior to their renewal date. The educational topics must cover: 

  • National Electric Code (NEC), 
  • Texas law (Title 8, Occupations Code, Chapter 1305) and the Texas rules (Title 16, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 73) governing electrician, and 
  • Safety (the NFPA 70E). 
Electrical Contractors and Electrical Sign Contractors are not required to meet continuing education requirement for renewal.
